This course gives students a front‑row seat to one of the most important debates in modern finance: how fiduciary duty is evolving in a world where ESG risks and opportunities increasingly shape corporate value.
3. What knowledge and skills will students build for their careers going forward?
Through the readings, discussions, and case studies, Professor Belanger and Professor Dyott help students analyze and navigate cutting‑edge regulatory developments, shifting investor sentiment, and corporate decision-making as it relates to ESG and fiduciary duty. This course enables students to advocate for sustainability to all audiences.
4. How has the way you teach been influenced by your life?
This is our third year teaching this class and we are excited to bring our professional experience and passion for sustainability to our current issue and case study weighted approach to engaging students.
Professor Belanger, a practicing lawyer, advises senior corporate executives and mutual fund boards of directors. Professor Dyott is a retired portfolio manager of a sustainable equity fund and currently sits on the board of a mutual fund company and real estate investment trust.
