As part of the Sustainable Investing Research Consulting Project, our team was assigned to a project which focuses on identifying areas for improvement in current voluntary carbon markets. With a team of diverse backgrounds and expertise, we have been working hard to narrow down the scope of work and select the theme that could be truly progressive, with the hope that our final piece can contribute to achieving the client’s mission of encouraging sustainable investment.
The early stages of the project were marked by challenges, including my own severe illness that prevented me from attending the initial meetings with our client based in Switzerland, and team members located in New York. Despite this setback, my teammates were incredibly considerate and supportive, ensuring that I was kept up-to-date on the progress made in my absence.
With their support, I was able to become fully integrated into the team. What has become evident over the course of the project is that each team member brings their own unique strengths and perspectives to the table. Our diversity has allowed us to approach the project from various angles and think outside the box. This has been particularly valuable in our effort to determine the topic to explore throughout the semester.
The team dynamics have also been key in ensuring that we are all able to collaborate effectively. We are constantly communicating and keeping each other informed, which has helped to mitigate any potential miscommunications and allowed us to work towards a common goal.
The colleagues are all respectful of each other's views and are determined to deliver great work
for our client. With our collective efforts, we are expected to deliver a high-quality piece of work
that our client will find valuable and useful. As we prepare for an upcoming meeting with the client, I am looking forward to continuing to learn and grow as a versatile thinker and to making a positive impact for our client through this project.
I feel truly grateful for Professor Caroline Flammer who gave me the opportunity to participate in this program and for the chance to interact with talented peers. This project is allowing me to grow both intellectually and professionally and I am confident that the skills and knowledge I am gaining will help me flourish in my future career.
