A Mix of Nostalgia and Gratitude
Reflecting on my Sustainable Investing Research Consulting Project experience, I feel proud of the work
Reflecting on my Sustainable Investing Research Consulting Project experience, I feel proud of the work my team and I accomplished in partnership with our amazing client. As we just completed our final presentation a few hours ago, I'm filled with a mix of nostalgia and gratitude for the opportunity to work on this project with such a wonderful team and client. I believe our relationship with the client will continue in the years to come, as we have built a strong bond of trust and respect.
Throughout this project, I gained a deeper understanding of the forestry industry in the US, including the challenges and opportunities available for investors. Our final model contained a comprehensive amount of data points, visualizations, and one-pagers that our client is already using to forecast potential investment opportunities, share with investors, and conduct further analysis. It is incredibly satisfying to know that our work has provided the client with a valuable tool that can be used to make better investment decisions.
I also learned the importance of leveraging each teammate's strengths to create an exceptional final deliverable. Through effective communication and collaboration, we identified each other's strengths and interests and assigned tasks accordingly, resulting in a much more efficient and effective process. Our ability to work together as a team and communicate regularly with our client was essential to delivering quality work on time and within scope.
The positive feedback we received from our client was one of the most rewarding aspects of this project. Knowing that our work was valued and appreciated has motivated us to continue delivering quality work in the future. Additionally, the client's offer to continue working on the model during the summer and connect us with other employers if needed has shown us how our efforts have translated into meaningful impacts in the industry. Their invitation to take us out for lunch upstate is a testament to the personal connection we've built with them.
Overall, this project has been a significant personal and professional growth experience for me. I gained invaluable skills in project management, collaboration, and client communication, which will undoubtedly benefit me in my future career. Moreover, this project highlighted the importance of sustainable investing in the forestry industry and the potential benefits it can bring to both investors and the environment.
In conclusion, I will always remember this project as a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in sustainable investing research, collaborate with an exceptional team and client, and contribute to a more sustainable future. I look forward to seeing how our work will impact the industry and hope that more investors will see the potential in sustainable forestry practices.
