In the world of sustainable finance and impact investing, our journey has taken us into new territory. Even though International Renewable Energy Certificates, or IRECs, are well-known, we are taking it a step further. Our work encompasses Peace Renewable Energy Credits (PRECs), which add to the original concept of IRECs by focusing on peacemaking impact. Our involvement in the Sustainable Investing Research Consulting Project signifies not only our foray into a novel market instrument but also a unique venture where we, as consultants, must explore the unfamiliar territory of working with our client. The unfamiliarity we encounter on this journey presents a twofold challenge. First, we must delve into the complexities of P-RECs, a novel market innovation with the potential to redefine the renewable energy landscape. Understanding the technical aspects of P-RECs and discerning their role within the broader sustainability ecosystem requires a deep dive on our side. Simultaneously, our partnership with the client introduces a unique dimension to our consulting experience. While we bring our expertise to the table, we must also navigate the distinctive dynamics of working in our new group and with our client. This entails adapting to different circumstances and challenges. Not only do we have to focus on their specific needs, objectives, and vision, but then translate this into our internal group dynamic. As we embark on this path, it becomes evident that we are not merely consultants; we are also learners. Embracing the unfamiliar is not a barrier but can be an opportunity to learn. It empowers us to bring fresh perspectives and innovative thinking to the table. While we may differ from our team members in terms of knowledge, working culture, and practical approaches, we can also learn how to tackle challenges from new perspectives. It compels us to ask questions, explore new angles, and ultimately provide valuable insights to our client. Up to this point, the dynamic in my team has been excellent and an enriching experience of taking initiative and compromising. In the months ahead, our journey will be marked by numerous moments of becoming familiar with the unfamiliar. In embracing the unknown, we have the chance to make a meaningful impact, both in the world of sustainable finance and in our growth as consultants. This journey reminds us that the unfamiliar can be a source of inspiration to tackle our deliverables, overall goals, and opportunities for positive change. I am looking forward to continuously engaging myself in unfamiliar situations to further steepen my learning curve and simultaneously find innovative solutions for our client.
