Please join us for our third Sustainable Finance Forum, during which we will be hearing about the revolutionary implications for the world of finance of the exponentially increasing use of “AI+” (the combination of AI with global sensing systems). On this occasion, we are delighted to welcome former McKinsey Senior Partner and SIRI Senior Fellow Thomas F. Hedrick.

For decades, the inability to measure environmental impacts reliably has been one of the reasons that kept them outside corporate balance sheets, investment decisions, and fiduciary obligations. That world is disappearing.

Satellites can now detect and attribute methane leaks to specific assets from space. Artificial intelligence can identify and analyze environmental impacts across hundreds of millions of industrial sites. New technologies are making previously invisible impacts increasingly observable, verifiable, and attributable to individual companies. Meanwhile, carbon markets, international competition, and escalating climate-related losses are creating powerful incentives to act on this information.

But there is a fundamental problem: Our capacity to measure planetary impacts is advancing far faster than our ability to incorporate them into financial decisions. Accounting standards, portfolio models, and fiduciary doctrines remain rooted in assumptions developed when much of this information was unavailable.

The technology is moving. The information is changing. Is finance ready? Are Boards ready? Could this information revolution force a fundamental rethinking of how corporations are valued, how capital is allocated, and what fiduciaries are obligated to know and do?

Join us for a provocative exploration of the emerging revolution in planetary information—and why it could transform the foundations of modern finance.
